This guide was created by me (Coldbeat), using parts and information available at our distributors (Symphonic Distribution) page help desk . It was important to me to share this information as a blog post/ article because it will answer a lot of questions, which I get very often from artists, both signed and not signed with us. in addition, it's important to mention that the information available here may be different from the information you'll find on the Symphonic Help Desk page , that's because our deadlines and thresholds are different, the reason is quite simple, in order to pay artists, we have to get paid and we need extra time to process the information once we get it. We receive the reports from our distributor within 35-45 days after a quarter ends, we start processing the information we receive after that and it may take 45-90 days...

Beatport now offers pre-order purchases for releases/tracks, at the discretion of the label and/or distributor. The default pre-order status is set to off. Offering content for pre-order is optional and changes to the existing schema are not necessary if pre-order is not being offered for your content. A pre-order start date indicates the date on which customers may begin previewing and ordering content prior to its official release. Customers who pre-order content will not receive the actual assets until the official release date. You may already know that Beatport has been working hard on the re-classification of their genres. Here’s what you need to know about the new Beatport genres: - Two new genres will be added to the store, “Big Room” and “Future House“ - Pop/Rock is becoming Dance, which is already in effect - Chill Out  has been phased out as a genre and merged with Electronica to become Electronica/Downtempo - Nearly all 4/4 music from Electronica Top 100  will be classified as Deep House - Electro House will be phased out as a genre and become the sub-genre of Big Room - Progressive House will remain as a main genre but it will be realigned as Progressive in the style of Sasha/Digweed - EDM style Progressive will be merged into Big Room - Incoming Electro House content will be mapped to Big Room | Electro House. Every distributor and Beatport partner received an email that looks to clarify the guidelines of what is an acceptable Promotional Campaign that encourages fans to buy tracks in exchange for something and what is considered an attempt to “game” the charts to unfairly gain a better ranking in the top 100. This has always been a controversial topic, often discussed in forum and social media. Everybody has a definition of what they believe is an unfair advantage and people often point fingers are suspicious activity in the Beatport top 100. Ok, let's get straight to the point, as most of you already know Beatport announced on May 10 that they would be terminating many of their services, including the new streaming platform, you can read the full Beatport statement by clicking HERE . The fact is that they have decided to terminate the streaming service right after we have finished updating ALL OUR STREAMING links at our pages. It sucks because now we have to update everything again. A big part of our players are back online, and as you may have noticed we'll be using both, Bandcamp and YouTube embeddable players. But for at least half of our release catalogue, we still have a lot of work to do to update those players and have them working again. Been a while since we last spoke about our new promo system and the whole situation that made us move forward with a new promo partner, I've created this post with the purpose to share with you news and concernings about the new system we've implemented. As you may remember for quite a while we where using a promo system we have developed and was based on 3 services, provided by partners, they were: e-mail management by Mailchimp, online forms by Jotform and file storage by Dropbox. Unfortunately Jotform decided to change their whole subscription plans, from a submission based plan they have changed their system to a submission and form view based plan, this way we've been limited by them, not only for form submissions, but also form views, that means that once we have reached a particular number of form views they would disable ALL of our forms, including the ones we were using in our promo system. As part of our continuous work to improve the services and tools we offer to all our clients, partners, fans and artists, Coldwave Records is moving its entire catalogue (since the very first one "CWREC001 Valleys Breeze - The Beginning" till the last one) to a brand new distributor partner. We are working closely with  Symphonic Distribution  for over 2 years as partner to distribute the music we have coming by Ehtraxx and B-SidEhtraxx, and soon the entire Coldwave Records catalogue will be distributed by them as well.
